During my journey to retirement, looking around and talking to people I’ve often come across people who say things like “it’s not about the money” or “I don’t talk figures” and “I only talk percentages” and “It’s about achieving your goal”.
Yes they are all correct, but at it’s core basis FIRE is about the money. We do it for the money.
Without the money, ie wealth and income not much is possible if you live in a modern city or suburbia these days. Money is the means to the end.
The amount required is debatable, but money is needed and specially during the first steps esarly retirement is all about the money.
